    Description

Listed here is a mid 30's era mans Waltham manual wind wristwatch to use for a repair project or for parts. The watch has a case with a rolled gold pate top and steel back that measures approx. 30mm across not inc. the crown, and 37mm lug tip to lug tip. The case is showing a good amount of wear on the edges and lug tips and is overall showing signs of heavy use. The steel back is showing a few scratches, but has no inscriptions or monograms. The winding crown is also showing a good amount of wear. The watch has an aged off white dial with applied gold tone number markers and gold tone hands. The dial also has a printed Greek key type pattern around the center. You can see that the dial is showing a good amount of fading and has discoloration around the edges. The markers and hands need a good cleaning or polish. The crystal looks to be a modern plastic replacement which still looks really good, but may possibly be rubbing on the very tip of the min. hand. The watch has a very nice looking Waltham 15 jewel manual wind 3/0 size movement. The movement still seems to wind and set as it should, but the stem will not stay pressed into the winding position. The movement has a good balance, and it did start running when wound. The movement seems to run when wound, but seems to be running slow. The running slow may or may not have to do with the crystal touching the min. hand. The movement has a serial number in the 28 million range, which date it ca. 1934-35 era. The watch comes on a aged padded leather strap with a gold filled buckle.
