    Description

    Offered here is an antique pair of cotton lady’s underwear or bloomers. The leg edge is scalloped with cutwork design on the thigh area.  Each leg is monogrammed BC at the bottom of the design.  The waistband has 13” ties on both sides for size adjustment and comfort.  Tied tightly, the waist measures 30”, the length is 19-1/2” from top of waistband to edge of leg.  There is a small rust colored stain at the bottom of one of the legs - I have not tried to launder them, but it looks like a contact stain and should probably wash out.  This was probably the undies of a portly lady or grandma, the fabric is strong and sound, and the clothes came to me several years ago from a local estate sale.
    Just a note - it is odd how clean and crisp this 100 year + fabric looks and how strong it feels, when the fabrics available for sale these days seem to deteriorate after just a few years.
