    Description

Illustrated in color and black-and-white, this early out-of-print book is a collector’s item in itself.  This book also features the only known photos of Mary Gregory.
    MARY GREGORY AND HER GLASS
by Robert W. Miller, Wallace-Homestead Book Company, IA, 1972.
Here is a dedicated book about an American woman who achieved remarkable and high-quality art through her medium of glass.  She was employed by the Sandwich Glass Company and she produced etched, cameo, and other decorative styles on rare lines of cranberry glass and other Victorian-era favorite colors.  Pictured here are cruets, vases, tumblers, perfume bottles and pitchers accomplished by Mary Gregory. Captions on photos, which are predominantly in color, tell the function, size, provenance and place of present display as well as attributing a relative price range [see date of publication].  This fascinating book belongs in the permanent reverence library of the collector, dealer, or historian of vintage painted glassware.
    6“ x 9“ plastic spiral-bound softback in very good condition.  32 pages.
