    Description

Antique WWI photograph of UNITED STATES INFANTRY MEN with a FRENCH 155MM FIELD GUN / CANNON; all of the men's names are listed on the back in various inks and in pencil (it looks like they each wrote their name themselves - all or most are in different handwritings); a note in pencil at the bottom says "155 Grange Filloux, Div. M, Sec. 118" (this bit is in different handwriting, and notes that the men are part of a U.S. infantry company). The French developed this field artillery gun during World War One, known as the "Canon de 155 Grande Puissance Filloux mle 1917", aka the Canon de 155mm GPF (Model of 1917); the GPF was huge and heavy and required eight men to set it up and use it properly; photo measures 9x6.5 inches.
Condition: VG+ (some minor edge and corner wear, two very tiny edge tears, minimal soil or scuffs).
