France French Bayonet Mannlicher Berthier Model 1892 w/modified MRing +Scabbard
France French Bayonet Mannlicher Berthier Model 1892 with modified Muzzle Ring and correct Scabbard. Normally called the 2nd model Berthier with the trimmed cross guard and the extended(thickened) muzzle ring for WWI use. Wood grips nice with no cracks, affixed by two washer rivets. Push button works. Scabbard has one dent near tip. Also, has a hard to read serial number on frog extension, which seems to match serial# on cross guard. Lots of patina on metal parts. 15.5" blade remains shiny with original edge and point. Also, 2 arsenal marks near cross guard. Nice complete original example of 100 year old French bayonet; only issued a short time period. Study photos always----.postage.
