    Description

Unbelievably RARE!!! Goldie Goldthorpe played for the Syracuse Blazers in 1974. He was nicknamed HARPO (a reference in resembling Harpo Marx of the Marx brothers) Because of his curly gold hair. Bob Costas can be seen on youtube talking about his memories of Goldie Goldthorpe because Costas was the radio announcer for the Syracuse Blazers back then. Costas has many stories of Goldie and refers to him as Harpo as he was known back then. Goldie also played for the Broome Dusters. The Iconic Hockey movie Slapshot was based on the minor hockey league and the most feared player was called Ogie Oglethorpe. It was obviously referring to Goldie Goldthorpe. Goldie was supposed to be in the movie but he had a moment with Paul Stewart where he threw a coke bottle and it nearly hit Paul Newmans Brother and that ended his opportunity to play a role in the movie. Goldie was in fact the most feared player in the minor hockey league. He was not just a fighter though. He was a fantastic hockey player that could score goals as well. It was an exiting time for sure and Bill Goldie Goldthorpe is a hockey Legend.
This super rare T-shirt is in great condition for it’s age. It is 46 years old!!!! No holes no stains no tears. This deserves to be in a Museum!!
