Description
Up for sale is an Orlando Seals hockey puck. The Seals played in the Atlantic Coast Hockey League for the 2002-03 season. When the league folded after that one season, they joined the WHA 2 league for the 2003-04 season. When the WHA 2 league folded after that season, they made plans to join the SPHL. But, in August 2004, the city of Orlando revoked their license to play at the TD Waterhouse Centre, due to a clause regarding low attendance. So the team went dormant for the 2004-05 season, moved to Kissimmee, and changed their name to the Florida Seals. They played in the SPHL from 2005-07 before being expelled from the SPHL in January of 2007, after completing only 26 games that season. This puck is from the year they played in the ACHL, even though the puck does not have ACHL printed on it in any location. When they joined the WHA2, the pucks for that season has the WHA2 logo on the back. I know because I have one of those too. The front of the puck features a die cut version of the team logo with full name. The back is blank. The edge has In Glas Co opposite of Official above Made in Slovakia. The puck is in nice condition, but be sure to check out all of the pictures before buying.
