vintage antique flue cover from the Tahanto Mfg Co. 1884.

vintage antique flue cover from the Tahanto Mfg Co. 1884.. appears to be solid copper with silver plating.  This item measures approximately 11 inches across, or 11" diameter.  The person in the picture is unknown to me.  The image is 2 dimensional and at its highest point is raised at least 3/4" of an inch from the interior bottom of what would be a plate.  The flue cover also appears to have a protective coating on the back, or could just be soot.  The metal is very pliable and the edges could be bent with little effort.  The plating which appears to be silver is worn through on the edges, and maybe purposefully on the highlights of the image to reveal the core of copper.  If anyone has more information about this, please forward to me.  I believe the Tahanto mfg co was out of Massachusetts.  I can not find another like it, or the image.  This has to be a highly collectible item. Until I can find out more I have to leave this item at a somewhat higher starting bid.  I found this covering a flue in a very old home that was torn down because of dilapidation.
